An off-track door looks like a quick fix, and sometimes it is. Where it goes sideways is when someone tries to force the door back onto the track before calling anyone - that's how a bent track becomes a track that needs full replacement instead of re-alignment, and how a roller that was just loose gets snapped off entirely. On newer builder-grade doors like the ones common in Clayton, the panels themselves are usually fine; it's almost always the track and roller hardware that's failed, not the door panel. The other place this goes sideways is cost: if the track has pulled away from the frame in more than one spot, or the door's cable has come off its drum at the same time, you're no longer looking at a simple re-track - you're looking at a repair that approaches what a full hardware upgrade would cost, and at that point we'll tell you straight which makes more sense.
